Two weeks ago we looked at the introduction to the book of Galatians. In five short verses Paul lays out the legitimacy and sufficiency of the gospel. Both Paul's calling to proclaim the gospel and Jesus' giving himself for our sins was God's idea. When we stop and consider God's initiative in calling us and saving us, our best response is simply to say 'Amen,' or "with all my heart this is what I wish." In contrast with the best response to the gospel, Paul now addresses what the Galatians have done: they have begun to reject the gospel Paul had preached to them and turn to another pathway of devotion, another gospel.
