10-11-26 | Pastor Tim Baker, "Are you ready?" | Matthew 24:32-35

Episode Summary

The great hope of every believer in Jesus Christ is the coming return of our Savior. God’s Word instructs us to live for him today and look for his coming (Titus 2:12-13). Believers anticipate the coming day when they will be changed in the “twinkling of an eye” and their “perishable bodies will put on the imperishable” glorified bodies,” when “death is swallowed up in victory” (1 Cor. 15). We know that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,” (2 Cor 5) and we look forward to the day when we will “see him as he is and become like him” (1 John 3). Last week we looked at the description of Jesus’ Second Coming, when the sky will grow dark, the heavens will quake, the Son of Man will appear in the sky in brilliant brightness, and the angels will gather God’s children for their reward. Beginning in verse 32, Jesus now urges his disciples to be ready for his return.
