Last week we saw Paul and his friends go to Jerusalem to receive the approval of the church leaders there on the gospel ministry they had undertaken with the Gentile world. That Jerusalem visit established a great, uniting truth that all people are save by their faith in Christ; there was nothing else, nothing more to do. In verse 11 we move from Jerusalem back to Antioch, Paul's home base and the location of his sending church. And it was here, in Antioch, that a disagreement arose. In Jerusalem, Paul had stood alongside Peter, but now in-between two of the great apostles? It was the matter of living out the truth of the gospel; specifically it was living in God's grace.
